Cloud Application Security

Gartner notes that: “Cloud WAAP provided as a service is now the dominant form factor to consider when selecting and acquiring WAAP services.”

In addition, Gartner notes that: “API protection and security is now a primary interest and driver in the process of selecting cloud web application and API protection (cloud WAAP) solutions.”

This report also recommends to “Prioritize vendors with strong API discovery capabilities and security beyond basic payload parsing and signature-based protections.”

Cloud application security is the process of securing cloud-based software applications throughout the development lifecycle. It includes application-level policies, tools, technologies and rules to maintain visibility into all cloud-based assets, protect cloud-based applications from cyberattacks and limit access only to authorized users.

Shadow IT, which describes applications and infrastructure that are managed and utilized without the knowledge of the enterprise’s IT department, is another major issue in cloud environments.

Protect against sensitive data leakage, cloud threats, and risks associated with non-compliant behavior in your managed or unmanaged cloud applications, whether your users are on premises or remote, using a web browser, mobile app, or sync client.
